QuEnG Seminar - Categorical Quantum Dynamics

on the May 22, 2019

At 2:00pm
As part of the QuEnG Seminar - Computer Science, we are pleased to welcome Stefano Gogioso , from the University of Oxford who is interested in categorical quantum mechanics with an interest in description of quantum dynamics and also categorifying quantum field theory.
Abstract
In this talk, we will present a coherent approach to quantum dynamics---from finite quantum clocks all the way to 1-parameter unitary groups---using Hopf-Frobenius algebras. Particular topics of interest which will be touched upon include time-energy duality, Stone's theorem, von Neumann's mean ergodic theorem, the Feynman clock construction and the existence of time observables
