Metaphysical emergence of the sort inspired by special science entities and features couples cotemporal dependence on lower-level configurational goings-on with higher-level distinctness and distinctive efficacy. In Metaphysical Emergence (Oxford University Press, 2021), I motivate and defend the viability of two schemas for metaphysical emergence: one compatible with physicalism ('Weak emergence'), one not ('Strong emergence'). Here I present the schemas and discuss certain cases for complex systems' being either Strongly or Weakly emergent. Along the way I discuss my preferred implementation of Strong emergence, as involving a new fundamental interaction, and my preferred implementation of Weak emergence, as involving an elimination in degrees of freedom. If there's time (likely in Q&A), I'll discuss some applications to quantum contexts.
