QuEnG Seminar, Innovation - Quantum-dot based single photon sources: From the academic result to the commercialization of near optimal solid-state sources for Quantum Applications

on the September 19, 2019

At 11:00am
As part of the next QuEnG Seminar - Innovation, which will be the first of a series of seminars focusing on the Academy/Industry synergy, we are pleased to welcome Valérian Giesz, Cofounder and CEO of Quandela in Palaiseau.
Quantum light sources are key building blocks for the development of quantum enhanced technologies. Single photon sources based on semiconductor quantum dots have emerged as an excellent platform for high efficiency quantum light emission. However, the question of commercialization of such devices remains a challenge.

In this talk, we report about the first commercialization of efficient single photon sources based on self-assembled quantum dots. We demonstrate the robustness and the repeatability of the fabrication of efficient sources by using innovative fabrication techniques. In the second part of the talk, we will discuss about the path that the cofounders followed in order to create a company.

If you don't usually have acces to the Institut Néel main site (CNRS campus, Presqu'île) send an email to Thierry Chanelière before 10:00am on 18th of May so that your entry passes can be sent to you.
