Junior Board Seminar : "A Brief Introduction to Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics"

on the December 19, 2017

At 2pm
Sebastien Leger, currently doing his PhD at Institut Néel (CNRS, Grenoble) will give a brief introduction to Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics. He will start from the fundamentals and then present tools that will help understand how to make quantum bits.
Sebastien Leger will give a brief introduction to Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics (cQED). He will start from the fundamentals (i.e. the harmonic oscillator) and then present tools that will help understand how to make quantum bits (the focus will mainly be on the Cooper Pair box). Finally, he will use those tools to describe the so called Caldeira-Leggett model.
This seminar is aimed at a wide audience and therefore it would be accessible to anyone having a basic knowledge of quantum mechanics.
