QISS Seminar by Hippolyte Dourdent : "Can Quantum Mechanical description of Physical Reality be considered Complete?"
on the April 13, 2018
At 10.30am
Hippolyte Dourdent, currently in a Mater 2 internship at Institut Néel, will introduce the Einstein-Podolski-Rosen (EPR) paper. The EPR article is one of the most famous paper in the history of physics.
Questioning the completeness of quantum mechanics by means of a gedanken-experiment, the article has inspired generations of physicists in their quest for taming quantum weirdness.
After presenting what were the sentiments towards quantum mechanics in the 1930's, we will analyze and distil the EPR argument. Finally, we will introduce the progress that have been made during the last 83 years in answering EPR's fundamental question.
